Our Sponsors

We are delighted to announce that Associated British Ports are sponsoring both our Round Britain Challenge this summer and our Jubilee Festival at Cowes 15th-18th August. Thank you ABP!

Their generous contribution will allow for some subsidised berthing for RBC boats as well as helping us with some of the running costs – including special flags for all circumnavigating boats.
They are sponsoring the overall winner’s trophy for the racing at Cowes as well as the Saturday prize-giving and supper. Believe it or not all we have to do in return is listen to their advice and promise there’ll be no embarrassing headlines with pink spinnakers wrapped round container vessels in the Solent that weekend. (Easy - no spinnakers allowed!).

James Lawrence Sailmakers of Brightlingsea have generously contributed sponsorship to our Cowes event where we hope that they will be on hand to give expert advice on gaff sails – and maybe a few running repairs should the occasion demand. JLS is a highly professional, family run business – so not a huge concern. For this reason their sponsorship is all the more valued as a significant contribution to our celebrations and we are grateful that they have chosen to “put something back” into the OGA in this way. There will be a JLS trophy which we hope will do the rounds of the OGA Areas in years to come.

Round Britain Challenge crews will be enjoying a dram or two of Old Pulteney Whisky at some point on their voyage, courtesy of the Wick-based distillery whom we must also thank. No doubt there will be a toast or two come the time… Venue(s) to be confirmed.

But they won’t be able to go AWOL after their dram thanks to Trackaphone who are sponsoring mobile tracking for all participating boats. Those left at home will be able to keep track via the Trackaphone website – more info to follow on this.

Other sponsors we must also thank include Cornish Crabbers, Classic Boat Magazine, Classic Marine, Character Boats and Haven Knox-Johnston.
